Back to Basic R2 Keycaps

Keycaps inspired by BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) which was developed in 1964. The programming language became very popular in the 1980s with computers such as the Apple II, IBM PC, VIC-20, and Commodore 64. Design traits from the Commodore 64's built-in keyboard are clearly evident in this set.

This is R2 (2nd revision) of Back to Basic.
R2 comes in MDA profile instead of DSA in R1. The MDA profile is quite similar to the SA profile in shape, but slightly lower. One of the reasons for the change in profile is that these give an even more 'retro look', and we actually think that it fits even better with keycaps that are initially dedicated to the Commodore 64.

New to the R2 are also even more retro control and navigation keys: RUN STOP, RESTORE, LINE FEED, INST PART, CLR HOME, ASCII/CC, HELP, NO SCR, F13.

The set supports a TKL/80% layout (not numpad), and fits perfectly with both of our mechanical keyboards, Drekiskip and Furycube F75.
